Kings Lodge is a 38 bed residential home providing respite care, rehabilitation, stabilisation, long stay care and palliative care.

Colette Manning RN SP BSc(Hons) is an outstanding Registered Manager. As well as her degree in adult nursing she is registered with the nursing and midwifery council as a Specialist Practitioner in the field of Nuerodisability. Before joining the team at Kings Lodge, Colette opened and managed for six years the first unit for low awareness brain injury in the United Kingdom.

Colette is supported by her deputy manager, Marilyn Hesler, whose background is in an intensive treatment unit and pain clinic, so between them they cover a wide spectrum of clinical knowledge.

We work closely with many specialist services including:

  • Tissue Viability Nurses,
  • Diabetic Nurses,
  • Epilepsy Nurses,
  • Rehabilitation Specialists

We are proud to work with many regional and national specialists for specific conditions such as Huntington’s disease, Multi System Atrophy, Motor Neurone Disease, Spinal Injury, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Traumatic and Hypoxic Brain Injury.

Our team, which include registered nurses, physiotherapy staff and well trained care assistants, are friendly and respectful and are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care and professional support 24 hours a day. In addition to nurses and carers, our team includes our Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Counsellor, Psychologist, Holistic Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, an Activities Team and pastoral support.

We focus on each individual resident and tailor the care provision in accordance with their individual needs and care plan. We believe it is important to strike a balance between providing the appropriate support and assistance to our residents in order to help them maintain their independence whilst also encouraging a full and active lifestyle where possible.
