Plans for 2012
We are delighted that Tandridge Borough Council have granted permission for us to build a state of the art extension at Kings Lodge.
Work is due to start on this exciting new venture early in 2012 and will provide the following facilities, all of which will enhance the exceptional level of care provided at Kings Lodge:
- 22 Bedrooms – the extension will create 22 new bedrooms over ground and first floors, all with en-suite facilities and all appointed for high quality care.
- ‘Starter’ Flats – the development will also contain two ‘Starter’ flats; these are designed to allow residents to be assessed having left hospital as to their levels of independence.
- Gym –a larger, purpose built gym which will enable more residents to use the facility and equipment providing the required therapy to enable them to improve strength and flexibility, reduce spasticity, pain and stiffness, promote weight bearing and mobility and maintain function and independence.
- Activity Room – a new Activity Room will provide much needed space for therapists to work with residents at the current skills programmes, including singing and group therapy, as well as allow for new interests to be introduced, such as carpentry. In addition, this will free up the current area used up to allow for a larger dining area for residents.
